Design Iterations (Before and After)

In the first prompt, we refined the CTA with more persuasive language to drive engagement with the Learn More page.

On Learn More page, we reduced our carroussel of short paragraphs to only one fluid page, keeping only the essential information to spark user curiosity without overwhelming them. In a real-world scenario, the video would serve as the primary informative pillar, providing the necessary depth and detail.

After testing revealed that the automatic countdown caused confusion regarding potential restrictions on Instagram, we redesigned the interaction. We replaced the automatic trigger with a manual one, where the timer only begins with the user's consent. Additionally, we refined the copy to clarify that navigation remains unrestricted, effectively eliminating any punitive sensation.

Finally, although the interactive pop up generated positive engagement, we identified that the terms 'Meh' and 'Mehx2' caused confusion. Therefore, we refined the copy to ensure clearer and more direct language whilst working inside the parameters of not having much space.

Summative Assessment
Alicia and I were very satisfied with the final outcome, both in terms of aesthetics and the product's potential effectiveness. Since social media addiction is a topic of interest to me, I finished this project deeply curious to know if Unscroll would indeed have positive long-term effects.

Although we cannot measure those effects right now as this was a UX case study rather than an actual product design, the process was a valuable exercise. Through this project, I deepened not only my understanding of user behavior but also my skills in strategic design decision-making. Overall, a final judgment on this project as valid.
