How can we reduce screen time in a world designed to keep us hooked?
Unscroll
For some time, I had been reflecting on a global issue that I’m personally affected by: mobile phone overuse. As a society, we’re increasingly attached to our devices, often at the expense of being present in real life.
With this in mind, my teammate Alicia and I created Unscroll, a concept focused on rethinking how users interact with social media. In this case study, I walk through our full process, from understanding user behavior to designing a solution that rather than competing for attention, aimed to empower users to reclaim control over their time.
This project was approached as a concept that could exist in partnership with the European Union, addressing mobile phone dependency and allowing us to explore bold, high-impact interventions within operating systems and widely used apps.
